Touchpad not working
- Press the key with a crossed-out touchpad (often F6, F7 or F9, sometimes together with Fn).
- Windows 11: Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Touchpad — is it on, and does it switch off when a mouse is connected?
- On some laptops the touchpad is switched off by a double tap in its top-left corner.
The keyboard types the wrong thing
- Numbers instead of letters — Num Lock is on (on small laptops the numbers are “hidden” on letter keys).
- Russian or Georgian does not work — the layout has to be added: Georgian, Russian and English on one keyboard.
- F1–F12 change the volume instead of their own action — Fn Lock mode (often Fn + Esc).
- A key “sticks” and types by itself — crumbs or liquid under the key.
Nothing works at all
If the keyboard does not work even in the BIOS (the F2 / Del menu does not open at startup), it is hardware: the cable or the keyboard itself. If it works in the BIOS but not in Windows, it is a driver or update, which is fixed on site.
A temporary fix: any USB keyboard and mouse, so you can save your work calmly.
If you spilled something on it
Switch the laptop off at once and unplug the charger — full instructions: spilled liquid on a laptop: the first 10 minutes. Do not switch it on “to check” until it is dry.
What I do
I check the settings, drivers, updates and BIOS — software causes are fixed in one visit. If the keyboard or its cable needs replacing, that is a service centre with parts for your model; I will point you there. More: laptop repair in Batumi.

Can one key be replaced?
Sometimes, if an identical one is available. Usually the whole keyboard is replaced — a job for a service centre with parts.
