When reinstalling helps —
and when it doesn't
A reinstall isn't a last resort — it's the best way to bring a laptop back to speed once the system has accumulated years of clutter. After a clean install, startup usually takes 15–30 seconds instead of ten minutes.
Laptop takes over 5 minutes to start
The clearest sign. Startup programs, a fragmented registry, leftovers from uninstalled software — it all builds up over years. A clean install starts from zero.
After a virus or persistent ads
Your antivirus removed the threat, but traces remain? Ads appear on their own? After an infection, a reinstall is the safer route — it's the only way to guarantee the system is truly clean.
Your data is always backed up
Before reinstalling, I back up documents, photos and contacts, then restore everything afterwards. Nothing gets lost.
After the reinstall
Windows starts in 15–30 seconds. Programs open instantly. The browser doesn't hang. This isn't an exaggeration — ask anyone who has had it done.
