Safety if you live alone: phone, home, accounts
Living alone in a new city, you want to be sure: nobody reads your messages, nobody knows where you are, nobody gets into your accounts, and you can see who is at the door. Most of this is the right settings, done in one visit.
What I check and set up
Phone
Lock code, who sees your location, unknown devices on your account, suspicious apps.
Accounts
Strong passwords, two-factor protection for Apple ID, Google, email, WhatsApp, Instagram and banking.
Trackers
A check for unknown AirTags and similar — and what to do if one is found.
Wi-Fi
A new password, router password, guest network — the previous tenant shouldn’t still be “online”.
Camera and video doorbell
See who is at the door, phone notifications, access only for you.
Photo and document backups
A backup so losing your phone doesn’t mean losing everything.
Prices
Confidential: I don’t look at personal files and don’t tell anyone about the visit. We can meet somewhere convenient for you instead of at home.
How a visit works
We agree in advance
You describe the task and your area — I give the time and price before coming.
I arrive on time
If I’m running late, I let you know. You are welcome to invite a friend during the visit if that feels calmer.
I work carefully
I explain what I do, touch nothing without asking and don’t look at personal files.
A calm setting
If there is a conflict in the flat or someone is drunk, the visit is rescheduled — it is safer for everyone.
If you are being threatened
I am a computer technician, not the police or a psychologist. If you are in danger right now — 112. The 24-hour helpline for victims of violence in Georgia — 116 006.
