Where to get the real ChatGPT
- The website is chatgpt.com. The app — only from the official App Store or Google Play, developer OpenAI.
- Stores are full of look-alike apps with similar names and icons: they show ads, ask for payment or collect data. Check the developer name.
- Sign up with email, Google or Apple. Use a password you do not use anywhere else.
Your first question
Write as if explaining the task to a smart friend: who you are, what you need and in what form. Not “write a letter”, but “write a short polite email to my landlord asking to move the payment by 5 days, friendly tone”.
Did not like the answer? Do not start over — refine it in the same chat: “shorter”, “simpler”, “add an example”, “make it a table”. ChatGPT remembers what the conversation is about.
What ChatGPT does well
- Writing and rewriting: emails, posts, listings, descriptions.
- Translating and explaining — including Georgian, English and Russian.
- Explaining complex things simply and making plans.
- Reading photos and screenshots: an error on screen, a document, a menu in another language.
- Calculations, tables and Excel formulas.
Where it goes wrong
ChatGPT can confidently state something false: invent a law, a price, an address or a link. Anything about money, health, documents or law — check against official sources. And never send it passwords or card details — there is a separate article on that.
