Family digital archive: photos, documents, passwords
When you are responsible for everything yourself, the most valuable things — children’s photos, documents, the lease, passwords — must not disappear with a single phone. A digital archive is built once and then keeps itself up to date.
What goes into the archive
- Documents: passports, certificates, residence permit, diplomas, leases, medical papers — scans or clear photos.
- Photos and videos: from all phones and old USB sticks, by year.
- Home and devices: receipts, warranty cards, manuals.
- Passwords — not in the archive, but in a password manager.
How to organise it
- One cloud (iCloud, Google Drive or OneDrive) and clear folders: “Documents”, “Photos by year”, “Home”, “Kids”.
- Automatic photo upload from the phone — the archive grows by itself.
- A second copy on an external drive at home in case cloud access is lost.
- Documents in a folder with restricted access.
Passwords and access just in case
- A password manager instead of a notebook and one password for everything.
- Two-factor protection on the cloud and email.
- A trusted contact: iPhone and Google let you name a person who gets access to your data if something happens to you.
Old photos and documents
Paper photos and documents can be scanned — with a scanner or a phone scanner app that straightens and crops. Copy old USB sticks and discs while they can still be read.

I will gather photos and documents from phones, laptops and USB sticks, sort them into cloud folders, set up automatic upload, a second copy, a password manager and a trusted contact. Visit — from 50 ₾, data recovery from old media — from 50 ₾.
FAQ
Questions and answers
Is it safe to keep documents in the cloud?
Yes, if two-factor protection is on and the password isn’t used anywhere else.
How much space do I need?
Documents fit in the free tier; photos and videos from several years usually need a paid cloud plan.
