Why one router is not enough
Concrete walls and floors kill the signal: two or three walls cut the speed several times over. Add dozens of guest phones at once. A more powerful router does not help — you need signal close to every room.
Doing it right
- Access points on every floor or corridor, cabled to the router; mesh in a smaller house.
- One network name and password for the whole building — guest phones roam automatically.
- A guest network separate from reception, the till and cameras.
- A per-device speed limit so one guest cannot take the whole line.
Testing every room
After setup I test the speed in every room, on balconies and by the pool, and write it down. Weak spots show up at once, and you keep a network map for the future.
Backup internet and power
A UPS for the router and access points keeps the network up during short power cuts. A backup line — a second provider or mobile internet — saves bookings and reviews during an outage.
A guest card
A card in the room with a Wi-Fi QR code and short TV instructions in three languages — fewer calls to reception.
FAQ
Questions and answers
How much does hotel Wi-Fi cost?
It depends on rooms and floors. Internet and Wi-Fi from 50 GEL; for several access points you get a price after a site visit, before any work.
Do we need to run cables?
Cable is best for access points. If that is not possible, a mesh system works — I will advise on site.
