If the name says “Free DOS”
There is no Windows on the laptop. I install official Windows (you buy the licence), drivers from the manufacturer’s site, updates and the programs you need.
What I set up after purchase
- Windows 11 (if Free DOS) and updates
- Latest NVIDIA drivers and Armoury Crate
- Steam, Epic Games and your games, moving saves
- Power modes and a temperature check under load
- Discord, OBS for streaming, editing software
- Making sure games run on the graphics card, not the integrated graphics
Technician’s tip
Play plugged in: on battery the graphics card runs slower — that is normal for every gaming laptop.

What does “Free DOS” mean on a ASUS TUF Gaming?
It means there is no Windows on the laptop. That keeps the price lower, and the system is installed separately. I install official Windows — you buy the licence.
Can I install Windows on a ASUS TUF Gaming myself?
Yes, if you can make a bootable USB stick and find the drivers. If you would rather not spend an evening on it, I will come and do everything at once, with programs and file transfer.
Do you sell laptops?
