I looked through the laptop catalogue of one of the big electronics stores in Batumi: a lot of models have “Free DOS” in the name. Many buyers think it is some version of Windows. It is not — it means there is no Windows on the laptop at all.
It keeps the price lower: you install the system yourself. You switch it on at home and see a black screen with a blinking line or a “no operating system” message. It is not broken, that is how it ships.
What to do after buying: install Windows (you buy the licence — official versions only), drivers from the manufacturer’s site, updates, a browser, Office and the programs you need, and move your files from the old computer.
I come to your home or office and do all of this, in English, Russian or Georgian. Details and the price are on the “New laptop Windows setup” page.
